Seiko Prospex ‘Tallest Peaks’ Limited edition SLA069J1This timepiece is a modern re-interpretation of the ‘Uemura Diver’ – the 1970 SeikoDiver’s watch which proved itself in extreme conditions when worn by Japaneseadventurer Naomi Uemura during his 12,000-kilometre Arctic Circle dogsledexpedition. By the age of 29, Naomi Uemura had climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, Mont Blanc and theMatterhorn and in 1970 became the first Japanese mountaineer to summit MountEverest. Just three months later, he reached the top of Denali in Alaska (then knownas Mount McKinley) and thus became the first adventurer in the world to reach thetallest peaks on five continents. The detailed design on the dial of this watch is inspired by Uemura’s ascent ofEurope’s highest peak, Mont Blanc. There are just 500 pieces of this timepiece available worldwide, accompanied by anexclusive box inscribed with a quote from Naomi Uemura himself: “When one dreamis realized, other dreams will follow.” Powered by the in-house 8L35 mechanicalcalibre, the watch is water resistant up to 200m.
